Feels like a Monday

The covid-19 incident of 2022 has passed and today was my first day back as the caretaker of the animals. Whenever he’s home the roll falls on him because they are his animals but during a normal week, I’m in charge of their feeding and it’s nice to be back on that schedule.

The weather here in Niagara is quite mild and sunny today. Much of the snow that fell over the weekend has melted.

I I’m happy to be back blogging outside in the sun while the dogs wonder and the hens eat a fresh meal near my chair. It’s nice to be able to look around at the scenery and the artwork in the backyard and not have to worry about maintaining eye contact with the rooster that once ruled these grounds.

I can enjoy the outdoors without worry and fear. It’s nice. I needed it. The last 14 days reminded me of how much I like being outside in the sun.

The blue sky and yellow sun replenish my energy in much the same way they do for Superman. I am recharged sitting here in my orange t-shirt and slippers. I know very well the weather will turn soon and require more clothing, but for today I am happy.

The birds are chirping, and I can see them for a change because the trees that normally camouflage all the flying animals and the squirrels are now bare. I look up and I see them sitting there. I’m not certain why some of them are not on their way south but maybe I’m just caught them during their migration.

Perhaps some of them have decided global warming has made winter bearable here in Southern Ontario. Certainly today doesn’t seem like a winter day.

It feels like a Monday.
