The early bird special.

So today I came out to feed the birds there 4:00 p.m. dinner and laid out a nice spread for them as usual minus the grain that has been decided they no longer need.

I was cheerful and looking for them since they weren’t around and I don’t like to leave the food out in the open for long because then it goes to less deserving animals than the chickens.

Unfortunately what happened was my cheerful hello birds, dinner time call was responded to by the pig who surprisingly came out all on his own and began to eat all of the chicken feed much to the surprise and dismay of the hens trying to eat from the same tray.

I made an executive decision to run back into the house and quickly prepare a pig meal which I put down in front of the pig and moved the remaining chicken feed to a different location which always confuses the chickens. Eventually they followed me and found what there was to eat.

So it’s only 4:30 and the pig has had its dinner but I don’t think it cares much about what time it goes to sleep. It sleeps more than the cats do. It’s life is basically sleep, poo, sleep, eat, sleep so if it’s an hour and a bit early so be it.

That actually means I can go inside now and sleep. I can sleep till morning if I want. It was a tiring day so I may do just that.
