Yet another unfinished work self defined

I had a thought about procrastination, and wondered how it would fit in a song.
I figured it was a little too long.
Words like that don’t flow well, and end up sounding wrong.

It occured to now, that I might not explain
my thoughts in this format, so I ought to refrain
and another idea, I throw down the drain

The extreme mass of thoughts, I decide not to keep
becase half my brain tells me they won’t do well, awake or asleep
If I share with the world, no joy will I reap

The true reason I fail is actually lame
Procrastination is not always to blame
What’s at fault, is seldom the same

If I complete art and let others see it
They might hate it and tell me it’s shit
when really I’d hope it would all be a hit

So I don’t finish finish my work, and offer to share
if I call it undone, I don’t need to care
it remains great in my mind, or at least it is fair

Repeatedly Failinging is common, and causes me pain
I don’t expose to critics to remain internally sane
Its a habit I know but It’s deeply ingrained

The work can stay perfect, as long it’s mine
If I share it, you might say it’s not fine
Its a delicate balance, to not cross that line

I’m afraid of exposure and being reviewed
My own self worth, is defnatly skewed
afraid of rejection. Afraid to be sued

Instead of ending, and calling it done
I start on another, and complete neither one
It’s not a great life, it’s not very not fun

All my tasks, stuck in an infinite state
not quite complete, too much on my plate
I juggle between them and stay up till it’s late

And that is my song, about procrastinate
