Good morning started off Good with my Google assistant actually singing the full happy birthday song now that it’s legal.
It went downhill from there and it’s only 8:00 a.m.
I logged on to the internet to check the details and the hours of the local Denny’s where I planned on going this morning for a free grand slam breakfast on my birthday. I happen to notice the fine print mentioning that this offer was available at every Denny’s in Canada except the one in Niagara Falls. Bummer.
Then I hopped over to the IHOP website where I was led to believe from several free on your birthday type websites that they offered a similar deal and would give me a free full stack of pancakes. Unfortunately this offer was not available to me either.
My third chance for a special birthday meal was to check out the casino all you can eat buffet which I had been told recently reopened. There are two casinos in town and I’ve only tried the one in the older casino. Apparently it is not open.
The newer casino does have a buffet although they had no photos of it, but it costs $50. That’s a little crazy even for an all you can eat.
all of the other birthday deals available to me required a second person or in some cases two or three additional paying parties in order to get my meal free. I am stranded here in Niagara Falls alone with no car so those deals are out.
Even the free Baskin-Robbins ice cream cone now requires I buy one to get one free or at least I buy one scoop to get a second scoop free. They don’t even give me the cone
On my way downstairs for my first pool of the day and to set up the food for the chickens for some unknown reason I shit my pants. This isn’t as tragic a story as it could be because I’m wearing extremely loose sweatpants and I felt the oncoming stream in time to avoid a catastrophic mess. Still, and unusual thing for me not common, and almost comic that it would happen on my birthday after three previous letdowns.
I should probably also mention that it’s pouring rain today and I no longer have a car so any of these birthday trips would have been by bus. I think I’ll stay inside now.
Well at least I’ll stay inside after I go feed the chickens and the pig and get myself all wet on the outside in addition to the moistness on the inside of my clothes have I mentioned it’s only 8:00 a.m.?
