Just as I was starting to get used to the rooster walking closely to me, my confidence was shattered as it came at me three times. I didn’t have my defensive cane but I shushed it away with my hands and no physical contact with made. He tried three times for no apparent reason but that’s his way.
It’s reasonably clear to me but not certain that he likes to stand in my path even when that path is to bring him and the other hands food. He does this constantly. Today rather than waiting the customary 45 seconds, I made my way around his rear giving him lots of distance but apparently not enough. My stealthy deception was cause for his defensive position. Or offensive I suppose.
Anyway it ended quickly by me verbally saying stop and then playing the back of my hand towards him the second time. He persisted a little bit But eventually I got by and the animals are now happily eating their feed.
It was fun to watch them come running.
I didn’t blog it yesterday But there was a moment when the rooster was standing in a very thin area that blocked me from passing on one side, and blocked one of the dog from passing on the other side thus blocking the rooster in the middle. None of us had anywhere to go. It was funny to see the dog put in the same position as I often am. Apparently we’re all afraid of the rooster.
