Whenever I am considering a move, whether it be forced, suggested or voluntary my mind seldom focuses on how much better it might be, but rather it sits in the thoughts of what I’ll miss. Every chapter of my life story has both good and bad elements and you’d think I’d focus on the horrible parts I’ll be leaving behind.
The last three homes I was given a room in were all regulated curfew rooms without the freedom to exit my bedroom past a certain hour. Partially because of my internal need to not be a bother. If I make any noise past 9pm where I am now, or my previous location, a loud and hearing alarm of dog barking is triggered and everyone in the house, including all the pets and anyone else are awakened and potentially angered.
This usually means I am cut off from the food, the front door and once, even the bathroom.
I wasn’t paying attention to time tonight and found myself quite hungry at 2am. No options to eat on this floor so I do without, which is fine. I’m used to it, and it doesn’t happen very often. The reason I started blogging was just a funny idea that popped in because the dogs must have been disturbed by something else because they started the sequence. One bark, then another and then the whole crew.
I instantly thought… I could run to the freezer and take three scoops of ice cream and be back in bed quickly and not take the blame. I didn’t. I should have, but I didn’t.
Oh well. Maybe my next home will have no animals to give away my late night snack binges.
