Whew. A close call was the trigger to blog this morning. I may live in a bedroom that would discuss many people. My hygiene is a secret that nobody knows the true stories… But even I have my limits. I almost crossed a line that would have made me jump up and change my clothes and bed sheets.
When I come back to my basement dwelling, I usually bounce down on my bed for a short recap of the chores, and I check the social media I might have missed before chores.
Today I noticed I had not taken my pill, so I rest on the corner of the bed to refill my water bottle. I have an electric pump attached to one of those big water bottle to give me the luxury of available drinking water at any time.
One I downed my pill, and was about to roll over I noticed a bulge in my pocket I had no memory of. I checked and it was the 13th egg from this mornings collection. Had I bounced on my bed as I usually do, the chances are quite good it would have broken in the pocket and required immediate effort to tend to. I’ve left a broken egg in a pocket before and am reminded of that all winter when I retrieve anything from my winter coat crusty solid pocket.
But it didn’t happen this time. I wonder how long it will stay in my bedroom taunting me to remember it next time, I mean next time I go upstairs. I mean next time.
