Over the years, I have found some key elements that make my day work out better. They’re not a guarantee of course since there are so many variables and obstacles but it is clear to me when I don’t follow these steps, I feel a lot shittier.
1. Wake up. Get up.
This is such a significant step. When I wake up and then go back to sleep for an additional hour or three. Instead of starting my day at 6am, I sleep past 9am and then I wake more groggy and unready. It changes the mood for the day.
If I wake and stand up and start, the whole day can be productive in a single but noticable way.
Sadly, this doesn’t work as well when you have nothing to do. It’s 230pm today and I’ve still doesn’t noting but sleep and lay in bed being unproductive.
Blah.
