Spontaneous dream memory
A brief description of the two dreams I just remembered having. Both at a product convention. One was probably inspired by a recent meme I created that puts me into the scene from The matrix where he learns kung fu

I was doing something unrelated just now when a news article popped up that triggered my dream memory. Two separate but related dreams.

I was at a convention and 23andMe had a booth. I was cocky talking to the people at the booth about the awareness of the public to their current problems which I remember being a good portion of there staff and board members left the company one day and apparently a huge data breach has allowed people to collect DNA records for many of their customers. I feel it is important to point out that this is my memory from the dream but there are some TikTok conspiracy theorists posting videos about this news as if it was the most significant news story being ignored today.

I have no knowledge of whether or not this is true but in my dream it certainly was and I was pointing it out to the people at the 23andMe booth after which I said but none of that matters to me personally so I’d like to sign up.

They were surprised but eager to have me as a customer naturally. I filled out all the forms and blah blah blah my dream progressed. When it came to the point where I was filling out the payment information I did so knowing full well that the payment would bounce and not go through. Casually I mentioned this and they freaked out. We shouldn’t run this through if you know it’s going to fail. It will have devastating effects to your credit history.

Maintaining the cocky lifestyle eye laughed and told them it will have no effect on my credit. I have no credit. I bounce payments all the time.

I’m not sure what the point of that dream was but it was a visual recall memory when I saw the ad making me wonder whether or not any of the rumors are true and what the actual significance to the world would be if DNA records were more public.

The other dream was a weird one. One of my tech friends had invented a download method for information directly into our brain similar to the method used in the matrix films but his version had a CD-ROM drive embedded in the foreheads of the trial participants. Somehow they glazed over the significant invention of having a seamless CD drive that vanished into your forehead when closed without leaving lines or marks. I thought that was a far safer and more significant invention but they went with the brain download invention. Same convention as the 23andMe booth.

So two of my friends jumped at the opportunity and had the CD-ROM drive installed and had nothing but positive comments and an almost illogical positive attitude with no fear that it might have side effects they haven’t yet detected in the 10 minutes since the operation was complete.

I came up with continuous string of reasons or problems that might occur in the future but they didn’t want to hear about it. They knew so much more than me now and everything was going great. One of my friends even want to go away camping in the woods this weekend with no worries that anything could go wrong.

I offered a few scenarios from my overthinking brain about the kind of problems that might arise when you suddenly have far more knowledge than you did the day before. Things that might backfire like The kind of obsession I deal with everyday. What if you notice your door squeaking and can’t think of anything else except you now have the knowledge of how to fix it and instead of dealing with customers or whatever you’re supposed to be doing, you deep dive into researching and rebuilding the entire door and storefront obsessively.

That’s all I remember from the two dreams but it’s kind of neat that I completely forgot them until triggered by an ad. Now I wonder whether I am curious about my DNA at all and might even check out how much it is to get a 23andMe. I’ve always been a fan of the underdog and like to help failing businesses..

It’s it’s now 7:15 and this side distraction of writing the blog has come to an end. Back to my morning routine…
