Each of the poors in my title are different words. I am referring to poor artists that don’t earn much from their art because their talent is poor. Their lives have changed dramatically in ways they have not yet fully realized.
Poor them.
I’ve always been irritated to some degree by artists that are not very good. On one hand I admire the personality that allows them the mental ability to share their work. I wish I could share that kind of pride, but I can’t.
The irritating part is that I never quite know how to react. Do they know they are bad? Do they think their talent rivals an artist with actual talent?
I understand that art is subjective. Talent is somewhat subjective. Having said that, I believe some art is truly bad, and it is being showcased as good. This has been the case since time began.
This is about to change. In a weird way, AI is going to make everyone capable of creating top quality art with a sentence. It’s going to affect artists in all aspects of our world, but I think it will effect bad artists most.
They create for the love of art, but it’s going to get harder for their friends to be polite. If I see some bad portrait shared online, I’m going to want to make it better, or explain how they can create good work instead.
It’s going to hurt feelings. It’s going to make bad artist that have great joy and pride feel like loses for the first time in their lives. I feel sad.
It makes me sad.
