My (his) defence stick is gone

I’m pretty sure the rooster didn’t take it and I walked the grounds looking for it. Last time it was my fault and it was just outside but this time it looks like he’s used it and put it down somewhere. I’m going to assume not intentionally and not maliciously but it feels personal. Only because I talk about it occasionally with him so he knows it was my best line of defense against the rooster.

Without it, I felt weird. I used a baseball bat the first time and I didn’t know what I would do with it if he came at me because it didn’t have the same feel. Several times, the defense stick has been useful and it shape extremely well fit to holding back an attack or helping me move forward when I’m being blocked. The bat just seems like the sort of thing I bash his head in with and it has no directional control.

The second time I used a broom which was useful for getting them off the porch so that I could place their food and the areas I usually feed them but it still didn’t feel defensive. I missed my stick.

More news as it becomes available. If I can’t find it, I’ll have to use a new stick and there are a few around but none is nice. I’m hoping I can spot where he lay it down because it’s unlikely he took it off the property or did anything specifically to keep me from using it. I’ll ask him about it but my assumption is he won’t know an answer.

It’s a good stick. I wouldn’t mind sharing it with him if I could count on him to put it back in the same place but my experience living here is that nothing goes back in the same place, and that’s part of the charm of his home / studio. It’s always changing it and always evolving and things just move around from one prime viewable location to another.
