It’s not that my life is more exciting when I’m using drugs, it’s that I sleep more when I’m not. My life has about the same level of excitement either way but when I am sleeping, I’m less likely to blog.
Ironically, I’ve had some pretty amazing dreams the past week that we’re definitely blog worthy but I don’t stay up long enough to actually get up and start writing.
Today I’m trying to break that tradition. I woke up at 7:00 as the alarm interrupt a really cool dream where I was originally watching a professional theater production presented to my high school on a national tour for a&w restaurant. Part of the way through some of my recognizable friends were taking part in the production and then all of a sudden so was I even though I hadn’t rehearsed with them and was inappropriately dressed in my standard school attire.
It was one of those productions where all of the vocals are pre-recorded and the actors are just lip syncing poorly but the props and sets were all as elaborate as a Broadway production and I was super impressed as they got bigger and better with each new scene and song. In hindsight. They were more impressive than could possibly have been for such a production at my high school but in the moment I was thoroughly enjoying the presentation. I was thoroughly enjoying the presentation.
I tried to work my alarm into the dream but unfortunately I worked it in as an alarm in the middle of my stage performance and had to rush to my phone to shut it off in total embarrassment and that woke me from the fantasy..
I have now been up and fed the pig and the chickens and I’m back in my bedroom doing my best to stay awake rather than go back to sleep as has been the norm for the last 10 days or so.
I’ve been using the excuse that I don’t really have much to do during the day so sleeping doesn’t upset any of my customers and I don’t have anything that I’m not getting done but that’s not entirely true and I have fallen slightly behind on replying to emails and paying my bills. Some of those bills mean that customer domains expired but they are not in use domains so no one has noticed as of yet. Today is my ketchup day and I am determined to stay awake until that happens. It’s the Friday of a long weekend so they’ll be plenty of time to sleep coming up.
As I looked outside this morning I was quite surprised to see everything snow covered yet again. I was hoping that. Of winter had passed but secretly I knew it hadn’t because Ontario winters notoriously tease us at least once or twice in the spring with amazingly mild weather followed by snowfall like this. I suspect this snow will be gone soon but it did mean I had to go out in it to feed the animals that least this morning.
