It happened again. Right in the middle of watching a YouTube video I remembered a fragment of what I assume was a recent dream.
I was talking to a big guy and was saying my top 5 movies would include The (princess Bride and body in the room had heard of it. These were not young people although I suppose 30-year-olds are young these days compared to me and the contemporary movies of my youth.
Still I remember in the dream, being quite surprised and then being reflective about all of the movies that I enjoyed that 30-year-olds and younger wouldn’t know about and I started to think about the movies that I didn’t know about when I was 30 that my parents might have loved.
For me I’m right on that cusp before movies became the popular Blockbusters of my time. My parents and grandparents would have been watching a lot of black and white films in their youth and most of the names would be forgotten. I do remember thinking that Robert Redford and Paul Newman were old people celebrities but Robert Redford is still alive and that freaks me out a little bit. I don’t know how old he was when he did the sting.
