Birthday blues and orange

Sometimes I make my birthday more significant in my head than it needs to be. It’s kind of like my personal New year’s Day. It’s a time for reflection and looking back and looking forward but my life here in Niagara has been reasonably dull and unchanged.

I made the joke on Facebook that I feel very young because I can’tceled my birthday for the 2 years during the pandemic so I’m not really 59 at all.The truth is the last two years have been extreme coast years. No forward progress. No backward progress. Just living life as it is.

I had made plans to celebrate my birthday even though I’m alone with no car. Those plans did not yet happen although it’s only 1:30 so I still could muster up the energy to leave the house.

The backup plan of going to the casino for the all you can eat buffet also was a failure. The inexpensive one is still closed because of the pandemic and the other one is $50. No birthday deals.

The Mandarin doesn’t serve buffets on weekdays anymore thanks to the pandemic and I believe the weekend prices $40 so it’s not like the $12 lunch I’m used to there.

Deciding to stay in was my best option and I had only $50 to spend although I without a chocolate and I only bought groceries on Friday. I guess it was a stressful weekend.

When I went out to feed the pig stepped in shit. The day appeared to be getting all of my frustrations and problems out at once, which I considered a gift because it’s far better than having five shitty days in a row. Bring it on Universe!

The nap helped. When I woke up I went to check the mail and look at that, four $100 cheques. This was I assumed the univer
