Another surprise lunge

Is that how you spell lunge? As I was speeding the hens and the rooster I held my baseball bat to the side while I poured the food from above onto one of the dishes as I was going towards the second dish the rooster came at me surprisingly fast.

I didn’t have time to block and I spilled the chicken scratch all over the ground and sidewalk instead of in their dish. To be honest, they probably couldn’t care less whether they’re eating off the ground or off their specific feeding dish. I just prefer it and it gives them a bit of a routine to always eat from the same place or the same option of places.

So I was missed a little bit. Gave him a stern talking to as if he could understand, and went and feed the fish instead. The fish are nice and easy to feed. They never complain and I have yet to see one jump out of the water and try and bite me. Of course they’re goldfish and that’s not the way they are.

The rooster has also decided he doesn’t like me hanging around. I sit in the tall chair by the porch steps and he comes right up to me like a bully. He wants me back inside the house.

It’s a nice day. I wanted to stay out but this constant circling with him and his prime constable, it’s hard to not focus and concentrate on that alone, which is a pain.

I miss my walking defense stick The bat just isn’t as good. It failed me today. Twice. If I lean it against the table it falls down.

And with that lunch is over. The rooster cuckoos and I bring the dogs back inside for the second part of their day.
