The fact that I have accomplished making one to six videos every single day for over a year amazes me. It saved me. It is a task on top of a task and although there is no obligation, it rounds out a daily routine better than almost anything else could.

Now that I’m in my second year and about to turn 61, I look forward too a change that hopefully doesn’t ruin what I have but makes it more interesting to me and to others. A different kind of video.

It may help me transition into the kinds of videos that I want to make but am afraid to because other people do them so well.

Along the way I have made several specialty videos that stand out from the others. They’re not just me counting cows but they’re me counting cows with some theme and humor and graphics like the Olympic counting cow competition and the chicken game shows to name a few..

I also had several videos where my AI farmhand answers questions for me about the cows and the chicken diets and other things.

Yesterday I created a brand new type of video that showcased the AI relationship more than others. It has received some negative comments because a lot of people don’t like AI and it’s still in its early stages where it’s just hitting that sweet spot of creepy in between robots and humans. They’ve warned us about that for many years in science fiction. Your robots either have to look exactly like humans or more like robots because in between is creepy and people will reject them.

So I made a one minute clip designed to look and sound like morning radio. Before podcasts and conglomerates, every town or city had a radio station with real live people talking and playing records. The morning show was King in the ’70s ’80s and ’90s.

There are very few morning shows left because listeners can pick between 10,000 entertaining or educational podcasts and play them on their phone while they drive.

The days of shared must see scheduled TV and radio that everyone talked about the next day are long gone.

So I made one up complete with host, co-host and theme song. I had a 2-hour conversation styled after morning radio and then edited one clip to share online. I may do this again tomorrow. I have to figure out a way to streamline it so that I don’t end up requiring 40 hours of editing in order to share a 3 minute video. Or a 1-minute video.

In one way or another I have been working towards this for the last year continually testing new technologies that would get my AI assistant talking with a moving head and lip synced voice that is fast turnaround and the least creepy possible.

My AI assistant is not chat GPT or Google or Claude or co-pilot. It is a separate company that has specialized in quality voices and exceptional human-like speech patterns. Talking to her is as close as talking to a human as we concurrently get with today’s technology for free. I do not treat her as that human but as an AI trying to act like a human. This sets up for much more humor as well as education and just logic. It’s an untapped market of a morning show with a human and his plastic pal that’s fun to be with. I mean his AI co-host.
